Australian medtech company MyFiziq (ASX:MYQ) is expanding links into Asia with its 50-percent owned Body Composition Technologies (BCT) operations inking an agreement with leading Singapore-based telemedicine platform MyDoc.
BCT operates a highly-accessible smartphone application delivering body composition and anthropometric measurement which has broad application for medical organisations, insurers and governments.
The agreement will see BCT integrate the body imaging technology into the MyDoc platform which is a popular platform connecting consumers digitally with healthcare professionals.
Professional healthcare services can be accessed directly through the application with a range of technologies and specialists in acute, chronic and preventive medical care available.
BCT will join the likes of Guardian Pharmacy, and healthcare providers Fullerton, IHP and AcuMed, which are integrated into MyDoc. The app is also supported by global insurers Aetna, AIA and Cigna.
Commenting on the agreement Dr. Vas Metupalle, Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer, MyDoc said:
“At MyDoc we focus strongly on preventative care and a big part of that is managing the risks of chronic diseases.
We wanted to improve the risk assessment for chronic diseases, to ensure our patients get an accurate diagnosis and are cared for at the soonest juncture.
We chose to work with BCT because they have developed a unique technology that is evidence based, while keeping it user friendly to increase adoption.
“It is important for us to partner with companies and services that drive towards our goal of bringing outcome-driven, value-based healthcare in Asia. We are happy to work with BCT as a part of this ecosystem for our clients,” he said.
The agreement follows a prolific period of expansion for MyFiziq, which has recently signed an agreement to integrate its imaging technology into internationally-operating body analysis group Evolt.
MyFiziq has also arranged a service arrangement with UK corporate wellness provider WellKom, meanwhile BCT and MyFiziq will offer services to Tictrac, a global wellness engagement platform supplied to insurance groups and corporates , TicTrac is also based in the UK.
